The Downtown Area
sits central on the peninsula, about five minutes from all of
the main beaches (by moto taxi or tuk-tuk.) The downtown area is
fairly compact, harboring several mid-range hotels and budget
guesthouses, lots of bars and restaurants, the main market,
convenience stores and banks. If you arrive by bus or taxi you
will disembark at the bus station at the northern edge of the
downtown area in front of the new market (the Sihanoukville
Trade Center) on Omui Street. The downtown area is only
about a kilometer and a half wide with most of the businesses
strung along the main street (Ekareach Street) and within a
couple of blocks either side. |
