Koh Kong
Accommodations
Koh Kong has a fair choice of
accommodations including several very reasonably priced
guesthouses, a few popular mid-range places along the
riverfront and one upmarket hotel/casino near the border.
Offering a very unique Koh Kong eco-experience a few
‘eco-accommodations’ have located on and along the Tai Tai
River in the Cardamom Mountains 20-30 kilometers outside of
town, including the 4 Rivers Floating Lodge and the Rainbow
Lodge. The area is thickly jungled, largely unspoiled and
very tranquil, still undiscovered by the crowds.

Upriver/Jungle
To the north and east of Koh Kong city
sit the Cardamom Mountains, sprawling unspoiled jungle and
picturesque rivers lead from the jungle to the ocean. A few bungalow
complexes have opened upstream on the Taitai River, the river
closest to Koh Koh town. If you want to stay in one of these river
places, most will help arrange transportation for you when you make
reservations. The Taitai River is about 20 km outside of town. To
get to the river bungalows usually involves taxiing to the Taitai
River Bridge on Road #48 (the main road into town) and meeting a
riverboat there to travel upriver to the bungalows. Most places will
meet you with a boat at the Taitai bridge and escort you upriver to
their place.

West side of River and
Border area
Koh Kong town sits along the Koh Por,
with the main body of town on the east side of the river. There are
a few hotels and restaurants on the west side, especially near the Thai
border, but the whole area is sparely populated and developed. Most
places where you might stay are either 10 km from town at or near the
Thai border, or just across the river from town, within easy motodup/tuk-tuk
distance of town center.

Thailand about a 2-hour boat ride from Koh Kong City. Koh Koh Island is
the largest Cambodian island, over 22km long, with classic tropical
